Better Care Starts with CollaborationWhole person care is inherently integrative, relying on the collaboration of multiple skilled providers to address health from every angle. High-level coordination ensures each aspect of your health is guided by the right expertise. Creating a personalized care team is more achievable than ever. This week, we’re breaking down the roles within integrative therapeutics and what each provider brings to the table. Prevention Across the Healthcare ContinuumIn natural medicine, prevention is the cornerstone of whole person care. Prevention is applied across the health continuum, from maintaining wellness to managing chronic conditions and supporting healthy aging. Integrative prevention addresses the full context of a person’s life, including physical, emotional, social, and environmental elements. Through education and shared responsibility, patients gain the knowledge and tools needed to confidently manage their health.
RDNs Translate Nutrition Science into Whole Person HealingRegistered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) look beneath the surface, delving into gut health, metabolism, genetics, stress, environmental factors, and other “whys” connected to common and complex health issues. Trained in biochemistry, physiology, and behavior change, RDNs are drivers of nutrition-centered care across conventional and integrative health systems alike. They deliver evidence-based and personalized medical nutrition therapy, often reimbursable by insurance.
Bringing Whole Person Health to Conventional CareWhat if clinical training better reflected the complexity of patients’ lives? The Integrative Whole Person Health Certification Course was created to do just that. Launching this summer, this self-paced, 24-credit program—co-developed by the Institute for Natural Medicine and Georgetown University—helps conventional practitioners incorporate integrative and whole health strategies into routine care. The course combines foundational knowledge, widely used natural therapies, and real-world case studies to support more comprehensive, collaborative treatment.
